Te‌ Papa Press had whittled down a selection of 222 fishes (from over 1200!) from their four-tome set The Fishes of New Zealand, and wanted to create an A1 poster that featured them all, large and small. The design approach was an mash-up of strict grid mathematics and free-form layout, using the shapes and colours of the fish to arrive at a solution.
